The theme for this year's Post-It Note Poetry challenge is "tiny daily miracles."
It is a perfect theme for the poetry I like, writing linked haiku/senryu (3 Ways of Looking), and shorter forms, musing on the little things that touch my heart and soul.
I'm sharing the poems I write this month in weekly blog posts. You can also follow me (@mkelly317) or my pen name account (@joz_varlo) in Instagram. Research the hashtag #pinp24 for the work of other great poets participating.
Week 4's post cover is a reminder that poetry should be messy. Beautiful and messy. #pinp24 ends on February 29th, 2024 and then I'll be writing poems for my next poetry challenge in April. I did write some extra poems in January that I posted as sort of a night reflection. These were messages that I heard in my mind's eye that seemed like lessons I should share with people. Something I heard a long time ago about "not keeping one's light under a barrel." They are in a connected series I call "definitions, translations, transmissions, transformations." These poems will continue to be posted until the well runs dry. Like '3 Ways of Looking' poems and haiku, I wrote a shit ton of these in January, too. Now, they've slowed to a trickle, mostly because I'm been under the weather, but when they come...I'll write them and share them on Facebook and Isntagram and maybe blog a few of them like I've done with this challenge. .
For Week 4...

Post-it-Note Poetry is now over for this year. The next poetry challenge is in April: National Poetry Month. I am setting mind to paper and trying channel up the Masters again with some haiku, senryu, and tanka.
'Til April 2024, enjoy every tiny miracle, every day. Life itself is a miracle.
Peace and harmony to you~
